Spotting Green Flags

About two weeks ago, I talked about spotting red flags, those warning signs that show why you shouldn’t start that relationship. If you’ve not read it, you should do that. You should know that I am not just a preacher of war, I am a preacher of love😂; therefore, I would be addressing how to spot green flags today. 

Green flags are those convincing signs that show why you are ready to be in the relationship. They are the ‘go ahead’ signals you get when you are conflicted about whether to start a relationship or not. I’m here to assure and show you that while you are stalling, there are some things that signify you are ready. 

1. It feels right

This green flag simply means you are sure about the person. Your doubts are dissipating. You don’t have that instinct that says something is wrong anymore. Their energy matches yours or is even more than. The vibe is hundred percent. Negative vibes are nowhere to be found. You don’t get bored when you are with them. Your face lights up when you see them or get to talk to them. Also, if you feel safe and secure with them, then, you just might be in love sweetie.😉

2. You always want to know what’s going on with them

This is the opposite of ‘ghosting’. You know it’s a green flag when you always want to know what’s going on with them. You are concerned about their wellbeing. You just want to make sure they are happy. You want to know what they are up to or how they are doing. It feels uncomfortable when you don’t talk to them for a long time. ‘Your chest will be doing you somehow’😂 It actually goes both ways. They also want to know what’s going on with you, ‘baby, have you eaten?’ is the most common one in Naija though .😂 If they are the type of person that will never leave you confused or unwanted, then, it’s a green flag! 

3. You give them unnecessary details about yourself

‘Babe, do you know I have a birthmark on my neck?’😂 It’s funny how quiet people suddenly become chatty when they are in love. Just wait till they become comfortable with you. You will be shocked! This signal also means you always want to talk to them about how you feel. You don’t hold back when you talk to them, you talk like you are close friends. You feel super comfortable telling them about anything. It just flows. 

4. You get flutters

Hard guy hard guy, you mean you can blush when you see them or when you receive a call from them. This life is a pot of beans sha.😂 Well, flutters are those tickling sensations that you get in your heart or in the pit of your belly. You could just be thinking about them and get flutters, they could tell you something that can make you get flutters, it could be something they did for you. It could also be that you always smile at your phone like a love sick puppy when texting them. The bottom line is that you get that feeling with them. 

These are signs that you are falling in love already my dear. So, you should really consider starting that relationship. If you are a guy and you’ve not shot your shot, I don’t know what you are waiting for. Maybe, you are waiting for her to shoot first?😂 Okay, happy waiting! Why is it that people think girls look desperate when they shoot their shots first anyway? That’s another gist for another day.
